Dirt Disciple
Hi I am new to the forum and have joined after a friend told me that this might be the place to sell my old RSP bike.
I purchased the bike new in April 2000 when I was 16 at a cost of around £1200. Sadly just a year later I started driving so the bike went in my dad's shed and has been sat unused since. A few months ago I started to get back into my cycling (I am now twenty eight) as I now commute to work. I used the RSP 300 for this for a few weeks and then decided I really needed a hard tail due to the amount of hills I need to climb. I am now the proud owner of a 2000 Trek 6700 as a result of this.
I would like to keep the bike but I just can't see it being used so I have decided to sell it.
Everything on it is original and as it left the factory other than the seat as the original has been lost. It was only used for a year but there are some signs of wear and tear, much of which has probably happened during its time in the shed with other bikes being left on top of it.
The spec on it was pretty good in it's day and it was my dream bike at the time (sorry non raleigh fans).
The bike was handbuilt in Nottingham by the special products division and carrys a 'Raleigh Special Products' badge on the front rather than the regular Raleigh badge.
The spec is as follows (please forgive me if I miss anything as I am no big expert):
Colour: Yellow/Silver with Red flames
Frame: Raleigh Program II 7005 double butted aluminium 18"
Front Shock: Rock Shox Judy XC 100mm (yellow)
Rear Shock: RST 22a (red spring)
Drivetrain: all Shimano Deore (3x
inc crankset, derailluers and rapid fire shifters
Front Brake: Magura Clara Hydralic Disc
Rear Brake: Shimano V Brake
Headset: FSA
Wheels: Zac 19
Tyres: Michelin Wildgripper
Seat: Selle Italia 4matic genuine gel
I genuinely have no idea how much the bike is worth now but thought this forum would be a good starting point rather than eBay.
No doubt I have missed something so please ask if you would like any more information. I have several good quality photos of the bike if you would like me to send them to you.
If you would like to make an offer on the bike or would like to view please let me know. I am 10 mins from jct 26 M1. After reading forum rules it states that I must put a price in my advert so £350 negotiable.
Thanks, Matt.
