20" Kona Hot Frame

This is cool.
He sent me the original 1993 catalog and his original receipt.
Pretty cool.
Frame is in great shape but no decals. Strange. I have sent an email to ask about that.
Once it is built I will post in owners thread.

So the frame was $710 in 1993 (bike was $2,250), and now you can get it for just 95. That's quite a bargain - I would expect a mere Explosif to raise a lot more than that over here.

As it was aqua when it was new, it must have been repainted and lost its decals then.

Although he said Tange Concept in his advert, it should have Tange Ultimate top and down tubes (with the ribbed/fluted downtube). It would have said Tange Concept on the frame sticker originally, so he may be guided by that. But I believe that was because under US consumer protection law, the sticker has to be true of the tube it is on, and the seat tube was Concept.

wow

Wow, there was a 20" Hot in my town and I missed it? I looked for a 20" Hot for 2 years with no luck and now they are coming out of the woodwork around here.

For what it's worth, many Hots seem to be decal-less. I think the Portland dealer asked the buyer if they wanted decals or not when the frame was ordered.

I need to start pilfering the Seattle craigslist to get even. Trade you my NOS Corratec? ;)
