1998 Santa Cruz Chameleon

Re:

Yea she's a looker. Unfortunately swing arm has three cracks. I have a potential replacement rear if the deal goes thru. Hope it works out because I really really want to ride this frame. I have a 98 Boxxer ready for it.

My deal for the Bullit swingarm fell thru. Bummer, so the quest will continue for a replacement swingarm. To soothe the burn I found a nice late 90s orange Heckler. Should be a fun build. Can anyone see the the collective trend. I'm only missing one Santa Cruz freeride bike for the late 90s.

Cham looks good buddy although it look even cooler with some old Z1 Bams on it. I had a friend who had a green Cham and it looked ace with orange forks.

The trans blue Bullit is lovely too. That and trans red were two of the nicest colours that SC ever did.

Z1s would be a good call. Maybe in the future, I have a few too many builds right now. Blue is nice, as is the red. I would really like a root beer colored one though.

Bike is done. Ready to ride. Feels good on concrete but I need some single track. Pretty happy how this bike looks.

Re:

Finally decided what set up I need on the Chameleon. After a deep realization that I have no honest desire to ride hardtail off road anymore I reconfigured the lizard to a street jumping cruiser for around town. Bike is crazy light and snappy. I think I will be riding it much more in this configuration. Now running a single rear xt v brake. Old Tioga DH front town 2.3. And a krad in the back. Reminds me of my old dirt jumping days.

Re:

Took the Lizard for a morning roll around town. Always amazed at how nice Chameleons ride. No wonder they are still producing them.
