That’s a whole can of worms to open! This one is safely mid 1980s onwards, not one of the first. The Araya/S&G Muddy Fox ranges started a few years before this bike and other brands/builders before that. Not sure of the exact year but around 1986/1987 I’d guess.

Im no expert but the old style frame joints & Canti brake studs are a nice mix......................is there a definitive "1st mass produced ATB/MTB" ?

I'm getting confused with the 'jamjar' style decals

I've had so many of these things over the years . I wouldn't have said different geometry though as there really wasn't much between the two model years. The later u-brake model loses some of the charm

I still have the Sansin wheels and a saddle here, free to a good home
