1998 Salsa Ala Carte and 2002 Brodie Kinetic

Thanks! I live in Germany.
And I am definitely not selling those skewers :p
I never even knew they made front ones until I found this set on the local craigslist equivalent.

Unfortunately I kept hitting my feet on the front wheel. Over time I grew tired of that and so my affection towards that frame got tainted.

I think I'd cut my toes off!

I really like your post! I had a 2006 Kinetic until a few months ago I commuted on everyday, rain snow or shine for almost 10 years. Some jerk stole it and I miss it dearly! It was great in all weather just like your photos show. Didn’t realize how great it was until I had to replace it 🙁 enjoy it, it’s a great bike!

I used mine to go on many adventures with my dog in all kinds of weather. I wish I had gone bike camping with him but he’s 18 now and doesn’t look like he’s around for too much longer. He’s the black collie, I still take him out for short rides. That bike was great for everything 😊 I’m still hoping I’ll get it back somehow 😂

I emailed a guy named Paul to maybe get a tip on how to best conserve the Magnesium brake booster. He told me to give it 'a coat of anything' and it would be fine.

So here goes anything:

First, take off some of the powder coat.

This is what I have on hand, dark brown wood stain. I gave it a good clean and applied a generous coat.

I'm curious how it will turn out. It's currently drying in the boiler room in all of its brown glory.

But why wood stain for magnesium? You could have just primed it and painted it. Or just leave it raw.
