Good catch Rigidftw, one could say that I’m a little excited and just kinda slapped it on for fitment. 2.3 is definitely pushing it with this bike so I immediately went for a 2.1 (after riding it flintstone mode down the driveway a couple times of course).

We’re almost there! Switched bb spacing around and installed new cranks, put the OG seat on and went ahead and finished up most of the wire+housing runs for the brakes shifter and dropper.


Now just waiting for the front end to show up and I can wrap this one up. I took it for a little ride last week and oh my… I cant wait for better weather. I had a 2014 29” Specialized Hardrock SE last year that I sold and this kind blows it out of the water, the bike feels way more playful and is a looot lighter.

Bought a complete (team Red) S-works M2xx last month as a 'spring project'. We'll see if I can hold it off that long
Owner said he bought it new in 1998, so I must check serial# to see if I can post mine in the ->1997 section as well.

Anyway. LOVE that you're so excited about the characteristics of the frame. Can't wait to try it out myself. I
wish you lovely weather soon, so you can share more of the experience.
