Picked this up last week as the orange itch was getting strong again......n+1

Pretty much original bar the bars, saddle and tyres. However....... boxes of bits and a plan and some cool wheels retrobikeguy shouldn't have mentioned he had have led to a winter project, well one of three but this one will possibly be my race bike for next years malverns retro xc event......

Anyways, here it was as advertised and how it stands tonight after a strip down.

This week I shall mostly be polishing nickel/chrome plating......... built not bought haha

Always got a soft spot for a bit of P7 resurrection. Looking forward to following the build.

Bit of wire wool, brasso, autosol and some interesting hand motion action....... and its much nicer. Not perfect but it'll be ridden as well as looked at. Was given some orange decals which I've modified slightly to keep costs down so it'll not be period perfect but nice enough. I'll fit them this week. Parts are almost all sorted, just want cleaning and checking in preparation. Only issue jve had was the rear wheel, the varied spoke tensions proved a nightmare and on closer inspection it appears the wheel was built with too long spokes so tension was not quite as it should be so new spokes ordered. Fullish xt m737/8/9 groupset sourced but I rek ill use gripshift for svelteness haha

Spokes arrived today but no nipples so used old ones to loosely lace the wheel. Hopefully they'll arrive before Thursday so I can build up fully in the house while Karen's out at the rocky horror show haha. Need to find a chain, pedals and get it all together for a shake down ride before the weather turns shit

Wheels have been finally built with new nipples and the orange bolts finally arrived. , did a quick build last Friday night in preparation for a few snaps today. Needs a shakedown down ride when it's a bit drier to check it all works. Quite happy with how it's turned out. Wonder how well it'll race ;)
