'Very fair price'? You're quite hard to please, young man! I should have said it was rather more than fair.
$340 = £205 = (a) half the price an inferior example fetched on UK eBay recently, or (b) the same as a frame only fetched on UK eBay recently.
That must be the best-condition Curve crankset that's ever been used. And the fact that it's missing its inner ring surely tells us that this bike hasn't been used off road very much.
Why are prices so low in the USA?

Maybe it wasn't ridden much because it was bought on the basis of 'largest frame possible, minimum seatpost extension, no top tube clearance if possible'. :?
Re prices, I'm not sure if I would be talking bollocks to suggest it, but perhaps the greater availability of slightly flashier/more exotic retro brands keeps the price of mass market retro down a bit?
