1996 Claud Butler Anaconda FINISHED pg7

Now this rear was never going to lace itself so I thought I’d better get on with it. The main reason for me stalling was the stuck freewheel. It didn’t matter what trick I tried it wasn’t coming off unless I killed it.
So I thought I’d try lacing with it still on😬 I’ve done this before on a 50’s standard 27” wheel 3 spoke crossed and with much larger hub flanges, but this was different game, much tighter and it needed a lot of careful easing to get the first & fourth set of spokes on the hub. But I managed it in the end. Tricky work and not something I’m in a rush to repeat! 1DFD9A1F-8D29-41B3-93B4-A99D6D53A35B.webp 7C901C1B-6A25-4348-9FDC-16040EA96650.webp 60F91447-73BD-40F9-AB92-AC9768C2B90C.webp 5E73795E-7C40-4376-B455-B23C5803651A.webp

Ah ha! I got a “back in stock” notification from Custom Riders for skin walled black Haro tyres!
(TBH I really didn’t ever expect to but thought I might as well register my email with them) I responded immediately and bagged the last pair of 2”ers!

So the build is back on! Just need to motivate Our Jimmy now 🤦‍♂️ C83AFF48-CFCF-40B9-99CE-8F0F1908C540.jpeg

Thought you were Dahn Sarf?

Lots of great work. But, if he's going to meet your exacting standards........ Post clamp needs attention.

This was from this morning…
It’s his build not mine

Whilst I’ve been digging a ditch (don’t ask) @Our Jimmy has been in the workshop, crankset fitted, also the headset, forks, stem and AC pro rotor. He needed a little coaching with the rotor but the rest he sorted himself… almost feeling a little jealous 😁 D9671D70-4912-4ABA-B937-837EB0728A3A.jpeg 4AB7F35C-BDBD-4B7C-904B-F84547D193FA.jpeg

One last little fanny about before finally getting the Anaconda finished… just needed to grind out the riveted brake adjuster so that I could pull the front brake from below as the cable of course runs through the gyro stem… 06F698DF-07A5-4691-8477-C47C792367CD.webp B457FEA4-A9B6-494C-A919-879277F89B27.webp
