Thinking I made the right decision on XTR hubs then over white. Accept it’s not strictly original for the purists out there.

My little winter project, although not too little for me was to change the bolts out for titanium.

First was to change out the brace and the brace bolts on the Manitou 4s. The brace bolts were totally seized so ended up sourcing new lower section

Then changing out the bolts on the stays which were corroded. Needed some help as the rivets were spinning in the frame.

Also changed the bolts out on the bar ends.

New bottle cage bolts too.

Can’t speak highly enough of TiBike. Brilliant service.

As I was doing it, I was thinking about my mate Captaincowley who is sadly missed. He taught me that the little details make the difference and the joy that comes from making these tiny improvement.

He would be proud I hope.

New titanium brake bosses put in on the rear and in the Manitou 4s.

As my first real venture into a retrobike build I’m very proud of it. Every part changed out except the frame and the crown/steerer.

XTR M900 really is the Rolls Royce of group sets. Nothing like it.
