1995 Ibis TiMojo

CassetteHoarder

Old School Hero
This might be my longest build so far, considering it's not yet complete. I located this one in September 2011 as a full bike thru a listing Craigslist in Charlottesville, Virginia. I purchased from the second owner, who purchased it originally in 96 or 97 from his boss at the bike shop he was working in at the time. It was a regular rider from then until 2001 when it was put into storage. It's been a slow process acquiring parts as I was trying to stay with NOS parts or parts that were in very good condition. Headset, Brakes, BB, Derailleurs, Cassette were all NOS. The frame's been refinished to work out a few scuffs and get it back to a uniform appearance. The fork was ordered unpainted, so in these initial photos it's only been bead-blasted.

There's still a few more items to finish up. Re-applying the decals, paint for the fork (currently on a waiting list), and build-up new decals. I also plan to get a custom front brake hanger fabricated as the Funky Monkey looks out of place, in my opinion, with the organic curves of the stem, headset and fork crown.

Nice 8)

What's a Chris King 'wide body' ? I could guess its a bit bigger than a standard one but in what way ?

Cheers,

WD :D
