Hey everyone,

I just bought this. Mainly because I felt sorry for it. It looks like a total POS...but look more closely..

-Front and rear uncracked white industries hubs
-front and rear XTR M900 derailleurs in good shape
-GT titanium bottom bracket
-King headset
-Syncros 27.0 x 330 uncut titanium seatpost
-Minimal chainsuck, no dents..no cracks...super rare 6061 and largest size.
-recently rebuilt alps with no stanchion wear.

This was owned by a hollywood stunt man.. true story..

As usual, I will be going full retard on this one....let the parts hunt begin!

Re:

First order of business...build a fork. It will be as new..

NOS 1995 Judy crown from hippie tech.
NOS 1995 long travel damper and dummy..found in the parts bin at my LBS!
NOS Kronos 190lb springs.
NOS bushings already pressed in..thx LBS for lending me the tool!
New silk screened decals..no pixelated stuff here!
Mint unmarked stanchions
Titanium bolt kit...from china...you can make your own on ebay!

In hindsight, an NOS fork would have been cheaper..but it is nice to bring a new one to life. :(

Will be professionally yellow painted to match my sample..

Re:

I have all the parts or the fork now (new bushings pressed in already). Just need to do a light soda blast and these will get Judy yellow paint and Ti hardware!

you aren't seeing double I am mass producing them for a future build  !

unfortunately no alum steerer...I can live with that

Re:

remember how those first gen plastic judy dampers would blow up after two pedal strokes? well, it is a good thing because it makes them great for rebuilding aluminum cartridges because you find them blown, with no wear on the internals!

I had an alum cartridge with some oxidation on the shaft, so i swapped in a mint shaft from a blown plastic one..now I have two mint long travel aluminum cartridges!..

Re:

forks(s) done. painter did a great job. it's hard to get the yellow just right.. white base and slightly translucent yellow.

bolts are still lose in pic as I'm waiting for the clear to get super hard..

decals are all silk screens. they look great!

Those Judys look supernice. But with the long travel shouldn't they be called DH instead of SL ?

PS.: Love the frame, too. Titanium link ftw!

Wow that is supernice job done with the forks! Cannot wait to see what you'll do next :)

Re:

thanks guys

by long travel I mean they are 60mm and not the xc 50mm..

lesson learned on the forks.. don't try this unless it is a labour of love as it approaches nos cost! live and learn!
