Yes!, I recently rebuilt a 1965 Roberts with cantis -which I love, so when I spotted this one, it was a no brainer!!nice project, cant beat vintage steel frames with canti bosses. I have 3 now and with a quick change of wheels/tyres they can alternate between gravel, cx, light tourer and audax - since the surly cross check was retired, there is nothing comparable with slender steel tubes unless you go bespoke - so these framesets are to be cherished - good to see another one being rescued.
Totally agree, I think this one will be a keeper (Mind you I've said that about all of them
There really is something to have a good quality steel frame like this in in herd.
Versatile for many uses like mentioned, potential to re-use older and newer road or MTB parts and still a great balance of being very solid and lively all round for some decent distance. Tinker's delight - back then they had common sense not to put a braze-on FD fitting for such a bike - so many build formats with like a single ring up front and a wide ratio cassette also work out. Certainly a frame that can evolve to needs.
