I missed out on an eBay auction which finished with no sale. Contacted the seller and he had put it back on eBay. Went round to look at it, offered some cash and he took it. Auction hadn't started so it was fair!!
Anyway, here it is as I got it out of the car.
Trek 850 Mountain Track 14" frame.
All bearings lovely and tight and smooth, nice brakes. Paint in excellent condition, just had new cables on. Barely used - even has original Trek Cliff Hanger and Cliff Climber tyres on with barely any wear. Just fantastic condition.
It will be used as a bike to lend to people who haven't got one so they can join us on casual rides over the summer.

Can anyone tell me the year? I suppose I could look through the archives but I know you guys love this sort of thing.
First Trek I have ever owned!! Where will it end? I'll end up buying a Marin one day, mark my words.

Oh, only thing I did before taking the pics was take the Wolfguard off and throw it in the bin. I won't have such a thing in the house, I have standards you know. ;-)

Good score for that price and nice idea having a spare for bikeless chums 8)

I've picked up a few early 90's bikes in similar condition. Must never have been used.

I tell you something, it may be a small frame but it's not short!!
Colour is lovely, a real nice looking bike.
I'm not over enthusiastic about the canti's though, they really are cack.

.......Those bar ends aren't very strong BTW.

Agreed. They always used to come unbonded from the clamps.

Looking at the pic of the front cantis, the brake blocks need lining up properly. If the rear ones are in the same state then it's no wonder they aren't working too well!
