1994 Marin Muirwoods

Well now my Dean is complete, the only bike I have left to work on is this Marin. Purchased by my mum back in 1994 it has Been very lightly used and then stored in the back of her garage for 25 years. Mum happened to mention that it was going to be part ex'd for a new bike and when I found out what it was then I had to have it, well it's for my wife to use really as she's about the right size for it.

So it's a little bit dusty and needs a good overhaul to bring it back to it's former glory so work begins to strip it down and rebuild it. It has the original tyres (red one is temporary while I clean the cassette) and even the original unworn brake blocks on it.

I know it's not exactly a high end build but it's in such good condition I thought it was worth sharing for the sake of interest.

From what I know so far, the front shifter isn't shifting up to the big ring. I've sprayed it full of GT85 and it seems to be a bit better so after a while I'll see how it is. I do have some XT shifters to use in place but I'd rather keep it all original if I can. Also the cranks were supposedly meant to have been changed in a recall but obviously these ones escaped.
