From 94 to 96, the Hei Hei was a different shape than the normal Kona shape, with a higher top tube/shorter seat tube extension, as in the example shown below. I believe the frame is most likely a 93.
The other big difference, which isn't visible, is that the 93 and earlier frames were not 'suspension-adjusted', i.e., they were designed for a 39cm a-c rigid fork. This doesn't mean that it's impossible to fit a suspension fork, but it might be best to stick with a short-travel one. A Pace RC35 would be fine. If you want to build it rigid, best to look around for a 1993 P2 or a Pace RC30. 94 and later P2s had a 41cm a-c and that would take the edge off the handling.
