1994 Koga-Miyata FullPro-S: the Max-tubing FullPro

Not that I plan to ride the FullPro-S a lot in the rain, but after a FluidFilm treatment the frame is well protected. I am prepared.

A couple days ago I started disassembling the bike. Today it was nice weather. I put some effort in cleaning the paint. The paint already had a nice gloss, but there were some imperfections like scratches.

This is what I used:

The original ITM stem is a hinged type stem. I discovered that unfortunately it is cracked.

I do not have another ITM stem available. I do have some alternatives. I'll have to choose one. From top to bottom:
- 3T ProChrome (Columbus Thron)
- Syncros Altura
- Cinelli XE
- Nitto Ultimate Ideal

If there is some functional advantage of the ITM stem then may i suggest you could ask a welder if it's possible to TIG weld it. Posing the question to a knowledgable person ought to be free. (asking such a question that is) Give Google a try otherwise.

Mmm. I prefer a stem with a removable face plate. The Nitto is nice though.

replying to a thread that's a couple of years old....

I'm a Koga-Miyata fan, I liked the fact that they were doing something different and using Shimano groups and the Miyata partnership with the frames. Odd to have one with Campag parts and Italian tubing as it seems to go against the Japanese connection. I can see how you would be torn between a Nitto and the Italian stems.

No such dilemma for me, my 1984 FullPro-S is all Japanese with a DA7200 AX/EX mix (original), the only European parts are the Wolber rims (on 7200 AX hubs)

That is absolutely stunning 👌 👍
Without wishing to come across as a bit of a d**khead, one should take photos of bikes from the drive side, that being the right hand side. The veiwer gets to see more of the bicycles components, some more jewellery, so to speak.
Otherwise a great bike. If I ever fell victim to building another bike, it would have to be something like yours. Only problem is i'm not getting any younger, although i'm of the opinion, or just kidding myself, that cycling makes you feel young, for a short moment before the aches and pains return to remind you 🙄
