So, gates ride meant a clear out and managed to sell a few bikes.

But some how in the post ride melee, I ended up with 3 frames!

I built this out of my finest period chuff, mostly 8spd LX and a few spacers here and there to make things fit.

Nice and colourful

Re:

Any idea what year the frame is? I always had a soft/hard* spot for the HKEK, nearly bought one in the early 90's.

* delete as appropriate.

Its um, a Zaskar?

Uniglide?

I only took a guess at 1995 as it has a cantilever noodle by the seat clamp - this in true Billy The Bodger styleee transforms into a handy cable guide for the front mech when using V-brakes

Seems to ride alright too

Re:

Still here!

Now with added carbons

It has been a nice isolation ride rediscovering the by-ways and bridle paths around here.

I've removed the road ratio cassette though

Grafham Water to the left, an almost empty A14 in front and Thrapston off to the far right

Just too stunning for words then? The Rigida 'Ultimate Power' red rims leaving you speechless?

There are some Wolber 'Titanium Light' wheels handy, I'll see what I can do.

Re:

When you had the road cassette AND aero rims fitted, it suggested you were some sort of flat land MTB racer hero. Marginal gains and all that... One without the other, hmm, no so sure

Nice build though, the wheels set it apart from the rest.

Thanks

The 'road' cassette may make a reappearance in the form of 9spd and Dura-Ace

Still chugging away on this one.

Easton stem made way for a 99p ebay purchase Azonic and the too short carbon post for an X-Lite seatpost

Re:

That's everything you need in a bike, right there.

I reckon you will have it in another 2 years.

Too reliable to get rid of. Innit.
