Yes it's staying purple. It's a nice colour in the sunshine, doesn't look so great in my photo though. It does look a lot better now cleaned and wiped down, the shine has returned.

Yeah, I like the green color of mine. I'll try and post a picture. Is your head stem aftermarket? Looks a little different from mine..

I'm pretty sure the stem is original. I'll try to remember to get a decent photo to add here.
