Inherited this recently from my Sister who bought it new.

With the exception of the Wellgo pedals, red ano seat q/r (I'll probably replace this but the original q/r was knack'd) and new alloy front cable adjuster, this is as it came from the shop (probably Halfords)..

I suspect it's done less than 10 miles from new

Similar kit to the bike I rode before I picked up my first GT.
It's in much better condition now than that bike was when I got rid of it!

Going to give it a wash and polish, replace some rusty bolts and move it on I think.. take it for a bit of a spin first though.. ;)

Get some dirt under its tyres for the first time ever

Be a shame to put any rub marks on those crank arms though. . .

I have a pair of MAG21's spare that I was thinking of painting bike colour and putting on.. hopefully still got a 1" crown and steerer lined up too...
I can't really do the cycling thing without a springy front end...

It'd almost be a shame to rip the groupset off it there's so little wear... got a few marks on the frame, largely from being moved from behind one shed to behind the other shed when they moved house

Stem could do with being flatter.. and the seatpost and seat are dreadful.

I got a ridgeback 602GS, bought it new in 95 (I think) & still use it now. Must have done about 60-70 miles this week on it.
What's the difference between models 601/02/03/04 ..... GX/GS as I've no idea at all

Cheers.

Keep it mate, what about slicks and turn it into a road/commuter bike if you dont already have one?

Been mulling it over today..

I have XT739 cranks and rear mech in the post, a front mech shouldn't be hard to find..
Shifters, canti-levers and brakes wouldn't be ott cost-wise...

Although, the current chainset is fairly immaculate.. new chain, cables, and some appropriate canti's and levers/shifters. . . the originals are showing their age..

If it only does road I might get away without front suspension, have to see how much it rattles my arms... would be great for fitness methinks

On model differences.. pass.. I don't even remember seeing another Ridgeback before this one... that doesn't really mean much though, my memory fails me daily.
