Okay so it's got knobbly 700c wheelset and not quite cyclocross so I'm sticking this here as it's more mtb ;)

Bought from Facebook marketplace a few months back fairly locally from it's original owner who used it to get about as an engineering apprentice back in 93. He lived in a beautiful and large home....estate? And had a huge appreciation for older items, his vespa collection was in the orangery...... very cool.

All was original bar the awful saddle and the additional 90s lights......now binned haha. Even the tyres are in great condition so going to give it a sympathetic restoration. I have a raleigh saddle, the shifters are buggered although I will try and get them going but may change them for 93 7 speed lx brifters. Chain and cassette will be cleaned and the chain didn't show much wear so could be used again I think.....

Been stripped ready for cleaning so as it is this evening.

Just stropped the original sti's I think they're just sticky and need some love and cleaning. I'll probably use the lx though. The handlebar and stem weights the same as a car so may swap for some alloy ones haha. Got some period zoom ones. Frames cleaned up well and I'll give it a quick polish tomorrow evening

Cleaned and had a quick furniture polish. Looks nicer in the sun and cleaned up well tbh. Stripped and cleaned the headset ready for reinstallation with fresh grease. Gonna have 5 minutes cleaning and checking the bottom bracket, span well so shouldn't be an issue.

Shame about the scuff, think its had a light or computer fitted at some point here. Bb spins lovely! Might strip and service the wheels tomorrow evening if I get time.

Cool project. The LX 7-speed brifters will suit it well, and if the original chain checks out on wear you might get away with just a deep clean and new cables

That's the plan at present, although I have a silver 1 inch zoom stem and orange hotrod bar that would feel amazing on gravel and weight alot less haha, I'll get them scales later and compare :)
