The interesting thing is that there are far more old Konas for sale on eBay than old Specialized, Trek, Marin, GT etc - and yet all those makes far outsold Kona BITD. So I reckon nobody sells their old Spesh etc because it isn't worth selling them because they don't fetch much

Maybe they want to keep hold of them because they like them, sold my Explosif and kept the M2 because I prefer the ride.

Huntso..you are so right...and I hate to admit it. Konas are part of my
biking history and have a special place in my heart...but a 96 ish M2 is by far a better frame....much faster and responsive, and don't rust

But you're both comparing a steel Kona to an aluminium Specialized from the perspective of someone preferring aluminium. Surely you should compare the M2 to a Kula before you can validly conclude that Spesh build better frames.

My point was about steel frames and I am surprised that there are so few steel Stumpjumpers around, compared to Kilaueas and Explosifs.
