and for anyone really interested the Catalogues and Techdata Catalogue are on VintageTrek

That should make this a reference post

:( cheers for that

not the best bike admittedly but not as bad as people think. mine was fitted with a newer coil shock as the bushes fell apart and this was all i could do at the time. the ride was pleasant most the time, if you span a harder gear the bobbing was reduced no end, it was a bike you learned to ride, not just throw your leg over and expect miracles. i enjoyed many a blast round the peaks, local runs and even raced it at MM, gutted i sold it tbh but i have the pace now 8)

waste of xtr..................nah, just learn to ride it and appreciate how far the advances in design have come :D

I just see it as a starting point for full suspension. Cool to have in the collection to show how far we have come. Compared to any reasonable fs design, they are miserable to ride.

When we got it, the previous owner had fitted slicks and a modern seat so we put on some Matrix/Trek branded products from the era. The only Flite we had laying around, form that era, was too beat up to use on this bike. I'll go with Lunar but it is definitely purple :D

Frame and fork that will be sold. $200 now or it will be higher priced when we add it to the web site. It is nice to move stuff without having to add all the pictures/description/PayPal info!

Nice example.

I quite enjoy mine, if you take mikee's advice and wind the preload right in it makes a world of difference.

Haters gonna hate

Since we got this one, we did take the 1992 9000 apart and will be selling the frame. $200 + shipping and it is on the way :D

If your going to say original XTR on the bike it came with in factory spec is a waste then you've missed the point of retrobike.

In 1992 this bike was the beez kneez dripping with high end wonderfullness. A couple of years later it was technological left behind but that justifies disrespect does it ?????????

I have one, I like its ride, i like its quirkiness, i wish it had original spec full XTR.

I have no problem with upgrading it but deliberately downgrading it because you dont respect it is sad :(
