Not really a specialized expert, what makes you suspect its a ringer?

Did they come in that colour that year ? I wasnt sure. It looked in exceptional condition for a relatively low price.

Definitely a '92 M2 Duralcan frame, I had a 1991 version and it was identical details wise. The all important serial number on the inside of the dropout is there indicating a 1992 frame.

Terrible repaint though! It would have been red if a team frame as per Ned's, the S Works version of the same frame was black with sliver decals IIRC. Mine was a metallic purple originally, which was correct for the 1991 model year. The original paint flaked off these just by looking at them :facepalm:
