I started with vintage road bikes, next logical step was to try retro Mtb/Atb-s :) so I got Peugeot Magnum r531 at local swap meet with original spec and stuck seatpost..Plan was to create steel 28" trekking/urban bike out of it

After cleaning

Replaced qr seatpost for vintage road gipiemme binder bolt and replaced original seatpost(stuck issue)

Original Turbo with patched holes for more retro look:)

28" wheels

V brakes and adapters for 28" wheels( along with little story card from chinese)

Brakes

Very nice!

This takes me back to my first MTB, a 1991 (I think) Peugeot Safari. I remember the Magnum was the one to have back then, but it was far more expensive than the Safari.

Thanks guys

mats16rcgti yours is also very nice, setup to perform I went for more "city slicker" setup:)

PaintedDesert yup, it was under top model Kings Canyon at the time

It s nice bike but bit heavy for my taste so I am looking for lightweight mtb frame like this Marin that I have built up for a friend

Re:

Hi mates

In fact they're really nice bikes.
I had a VTT5 in 1989 and I think that is the bike that I enjoyed more, possibly because I was much younger then :(
The 1989 models used a standard 531 tubing , not the oversized magnum series tubing , and had some trouble spot as the headset (1 1/8" - 1" mix).
But in my opinion they were good bikes, and although they were not as prestigious as Specialized and Trek ones, I could recently check that there was not much difference in weight within them.

I lost mines seatpost and I doubt if it is a 26'2mm or 26,4mm
Could any of you please give me the measure of their own ?

Many thanks in advance
