Most bike parts will fit.
Seatpost is a size you'll need to find. Might be stamped on your current one or measure it with callipers or look for build threads.
My same year Alu-O was 27.6 but that means nothing
Don't look at other years, they varied (and in fact might not be Elites but E2 E3 etc..
)
Headset will be 1 1/4" aka Evolution this will be harder to get hold of, especially if you try to go ahead.
Stem and fork steerer size also need to be that.
The alternative is to get some reducer cups and put it to the common 1 1/8" setup.
Chainset's and bottom bracket have a relaition ship. They need to be the same interface (square taper if staying to 1992) but the length of the bottom bracket will be determined by your chainset use.
If in year 1992 then
Shimano XTR (M900) used a 107mm length bottom bracket
Shimano Deore XT (M735) and the other Shiamno's used a 122.5 mm bottom bracket
Shifter's need to be for your number of cogs at the back, most are interchangeable. Note RapidFires/RF+ from that era where quite poor, hence the move to GripShift being well and truly established (and the boom of SRAM)
The gallery and Archive (big link next to title) has a lot of information in it, like the Shimano catalogues for the years and other components.
Search the site and do more asking like you just did
There are other useful sites that will crop up, like this one
http://www.fa-technik.adfc.de/Hersteller/index.html
and the often given links like

Use google to search on the M-number
The M number is a model code M standing for Mountain
So in M9xx you generally have XTR components.
M90x/M01x being the 1992 to 1995 first XTR series, then M95x up to 2000-ish, then in to modern times with M96x followed by M97x and some newer one that is just out.
