Hi Everybody,
I have been asked to sell this for a neighbour, who originally bought it for his wife, but has watched it gather dust for about 10 years. I will start by saying that I have given the bike a quick once over and it is in need of a damn good clean and service, so don't be thinking you are about to buy a shop fresh Cindercone for silly money.
However this has been reflected in the asking price so do read on......
1992 Kona Cindercone, 14.5" C-C, 17" C-T Rare size and great colour.
Purchased new from Garland Cycles in Bristol in 1992 and owned by my neighbour since.
Largely original except a replacement stem (adjustable thing) and a Zoom post with Vetta saddle, otherwise as she rolled out of the shop. Full Suntour XC Ltd groupset and tripple butted project 2's.
It does sport an unfortunate ding in the top tube that I have tried to show in the picture, however I would not anticipate this causing any more than cosmetic issues. Otherwise paint is in decent condition, just a bit faded in places.
Given the fact that I think it needs new balls in the hubs and bottom bracket, plus a chain and set of cables, I think the asking price is pretty reasonable. Split for the groupset and frame/forks it would easily return a profit, I just don't have the time/inclination. In addition it is not my bike and I am selling as a favour, so don't want to spend too much time packing etc; hence better price for collection.
£150 collectd, £180 posted in the UK. Direct bank transfer preferred as I have to give the money to my neighbour, but Paypal gift if need be.
