1992 Klein Adroit

The other thing is you read of old posts cracking, which wouldn't be fun (not sure how common that is though). But I'll still keep an eye out for one for posh days and put a Flite on it.

Re:

The SLR arrived, someone said they were limited to 250 pieces but that doesn't sound very likely. The cover is still leather but printed with the design. I tried to get the blue in the pic looking how it does in real life.

It's not quite as light as my Contador limited edition as this has vanox rails rather than carbon, but still not exactly heavy at 160g (not sure where the claimed weight of 135g came from when the carbon railed is 145g).

I also bought a Brooks Swift titanium yesterday, not sure which build I'll try that on yet though.

Hadn't really thought about pedals until recently. I've always used spd's but flats seem to be the in thing, I know my brothers pretty much only ride with them. So decided to go for them instead.

For the Kona I bought Saint's which seem well made and good value in the sale but a bit on the heavy side. So looked around and DMR Vaults seem to be most peoples top choice so went with them. Instead of the cheap muck I went for the Mg Superlight's which are nearly 1/2lb lighter than the Saints.

So I'm nearly there, just a couple of bit's I'll want to change for more period correct, or at least have on the shelf. Still not found a Ti-Stix seatpost clamp, will have to make do for now.

Well it's built but the pedals don't look right, they're massive, just look silly with the Revolution cranks. So I'm going to look around for something period correct. Guess that's Grafton Speedtrap's, Suntour XC Pro's (not likely) or XT M737 SPD's.

Have a Ringle seat QR on its way but still not found a period correct seatpost.

My brother's having problems getting the rear shifting setup. Run out of idea so will try and borrow some 8 speed shifters and mech and start narrowing it down. Pain.

After a lot of farting around we (well my brother) worked out what it was. The shifters and mech worked fine when swapped to a full outer as a test so were a bit perplexed. Turned out that someone had crossed the internal guides and I guess that caused too much friction, even made the rear shift when shifting the front. Uncrossed them and all's well.

Will try and post some pics tomorrow.

There will be a couple of changes, certainly the pedals, probably seatpost and perhaps the saddle. But it's basically done and looks really good. The specs are:

Re:

It's common for the internal guides to be crossed as it helps keep the external guides off the head tube to avoid rubbing of the paint, something worth checking through.

Oh OK, not sure why it was screwing things up then but it was. Will add some clear protectors on the headtube as the cables are pretty close.
