1992 Dave Yates Diablo (Completion pics on page 6)

Re:

Late to the party by the looks of things

I agree that the paint looks awesome, having been the previous owner of that stem I can't believe how it looks now. I can't wait to see the finished frame...

The gold wheels should drop well with the colour as well, I reckon some further gold hints with silver drivetrain will look super cool, but it is of course your call..

I'll be hopefully digging out my Diabolo in tribute this weekend for a bit of riding and upgrading 8)

Re: 1992 Dave Yates Diablo

Thank you all for your kind words!

I was up early this morning to apply decals and get some lacquer down, so here it is for now, will give it a week to fully harden and then I have a weeks holiday to start building up :D

Re: 1992 Dave Yates Diablo

Cheers Raidan, I'm itching to get this built now, it's driving me mad, I have no patience...

Re: 1992 Dave Yates Diablo

If the paint looks as good up close as it does in your pics then you could quite easily charge for your services and recoup some costs!

Re:

Looks fantastic. Let me know if you start taking commissions..! I've a Yates which could do with tarting up too.

Re: 1992 Dave Yates Diablo

very impressed, the cleanliness if your surroundings, the quality choice in colour, the execution of the job and the finish is all fantastic.

That is looking fantastic. 8)
Be interested to hear how the paint holds up long term to riding damage etc. Did you use any heat sources to 'bake' the paint at all?
