The crank debate was a tricky one.
Top lines are the lightest alone, but add the rings, wider BB, and bolts needed and they become heavier than the raceface. I only wanted to go 2 x 7 gearing as well to save weight and improve trail performance. There were no good MD-friendly ring options for the toplines to make that work.
I had resolved that I'd go raceface ... than these appeared locally and cheap
. A couple hours of cleaning and polishing and they look awesome. Add in the QBP rings and the added bonus that I can now use my 119mm McMahon Ti BB and this looses nearly 120 over the raceface and 200g++ over the toplines.
