So thanks to @Black_puma for the heads up in the eBay and mark place watch section I was able to pick up a stunningly clean 1991 GT Team Avalanche yesterday.
The owner was a lovely older lady who had purchased the bike new in 1991. After getting buzzed a little too close by a lorry on the main road and realising it wasn’t the sort of bike you could just leave outside the local shop she retired it from used and has been sat stored and not turned a wheel since.
The asking price was quite high but we spent a good few weeks messaging back and fourth and finally got it down to a number I was much more happy with.
The owner did have the LBS “service” the bike recently but have not replaced any parts, just a tweak here and there. They have so I’ve just noticed fitted the from tyre back to front bit that’s easily rectified.
The bike is very presentable as in but I’ll no doubt give it the full strip down, polish everything back up, deal with a few minor rust sports before rebuilding and easier a nice coat of hard wax or even ceramic coat to seal it all in.
