On Fridays race day, the C.A.T.S W.I.S.I.k.A.S

On Saturdays race Day, the D.O.N.K.I.S N.O.B

On Sundays race day, the D.O.G.S.B.O.L.O.X

That's how id choose.

GIO, you have done it, Not only found, but carefully and respectfully restored..... to my mind, "THE" three most Iconic British Handbuilt bikes from the early 90s race scene.

Three Builders, Three Different approaches to steel choices to optimise the best from a frame design, Three Iconic Paint finishes, The Flagship Model from Each frame Builder as displayed in our mountain biking press, and trade and public shows......Each frame builders answer to the same questions.........Whilst not a battle for the best, it will always be remembered this way....Classic piece of UK Mountain bike History right there.

And it happened here on Retrobike.....!!!

Three Cheers for the Frame builders,

And sincere compliments GIO.........im sure you are the only person with all three models together, this should be part of a Heritage display at the next Uk Handbuilt bicycle show.

Really.. it is a significant thing you have done, and I hope someone reading this involved at the uk show picks up on it and realises its worth to our uk hand building achievements and continuing mountain bike history.

Re:

Thanks mate.

I never really set out to have all three if I'm honest. The DB was always the one I lusted over in the mags. I think it suited my very graphic eye.

As you know I've had the frame for a few years now and slowly it kept getting put to the side, as other frames came up, possibly because I always knew what I was going to do.

As time went by the other two frames became available and with yours and Adrian's help (and Argos of course) the three bikes slowly become a reality.

I will do some shots of the three together and try to get them so the geometry and frame details are evident.

If somebody does want to show them or do a write up I'll be very happy - I don't think they will though :)

Here, here! Well said! I've edited the quoted post to what I see are the salient points, but I couldn't agree more with your whole post!

Of all three I think the DONKISNOB is the prettiest, but that's mainly due to the colours of the frame and how they're applied. For me though, the DOGSBOLX is the stand-out winner here because of the plan to replicate a bike I lusted over myself as a teen and one that no doubt captured many others' imaginations: the Justin Loretz bike. It's a truly stunning build, and the efforts you've gone to in sourcing and fitting the parts Gio, are truly outstanding. I really am thoroughly in awe of this bike and your abilities. And to see these three British icons together is fantastic. 8)

What an amazing line up, all so good but I think the Dogs Bollox just pips the other two for me just because I was more familiar with it back in the day.

Re:

I think the DOGS has it's nose in front for me but that's just down to visuals and nostalgia. I wonder which one I'd pick after riding them all.

Awesome work x3 mate. You must be very pleased :)

 have only just joined the site and my first comment HAS to go onto this post. What an amazing collection, truly!! All 3 are stunning, that Roberts DB though is a long time dream of mine and just looks fast standing still, great job and yes, a photo of all 3 together would be something to behold.

Thank you mate. It was quite an easy choice on the Salsa stem but would still love to find a Roberts one to really finish it off.

No props on the decals. I hope they come in useful.
