Went for mostly new parts on this. It's definitely a different riding experience than my other bikes. Feels very aggressive for sure. There are some crummy parts on it, but they work fine for now (especially because I'm running on a student budget, haha). I've been having some pretty bad chain skipping problems with it. Hopefully that can be alleviated in the near future. Overall, it's a different and fun bike.

Nice mix of modern parts on an old Astar, there 8) 8)

'92 forks on a '91 goes well, too  8)

What size fram tho? (guessing 20.5") as it looks huuuuuuuge :)

nice build

know what you mean about the aggressive riding style you need to adopt

Looks great!

So, silly question: Are elevated chainstay bikes a 'natural' for belt drive conversions?

Again, super looking bike!

probably

flexy b/b has always been cited as a problem with them ,tho with a belt
i doubt it would suffer
why bother tho ,apart from the "different" factor chains and derailleurs
work better IMHO

Yeah I had been thinking about a belt drive. I don't have the cash to blow on that, but I'd love to see someone try it. Not having to ever break the chain is nice on this bike.
