1990 Marin Pine Mountain. *Update 27/7/16*.

Re: 1990 Marin Pine Mountain.

Nice! Good to see you're sorted for RM20s.

Liking the '90+'91 photo too.

Re:

Finally got round to stripping this right back and giving it a decent de-grease. The Zolatone has come up really well with all dirt marks coming off. Most of the small patches where a bit of rust was showing have cleaned up well but I'm reluctant to go any further with the few bits left as I'm in danger of spoiling the Zolatone if I go more abrasive.

All the components have cleaned up and for once I took the (not pictured  ) crankset fully apart to give it a deep clean. I have sourced replacement STI's, better front mech and having given up on finding the correct saddle may have scored a Rolls that will do so all that will remain will be to build back up after polishing. Build report to follow. 8)

Re:

Had a bit more time today to clean the parts and start to re-assemble. Bottom bracket and headset cleaned, greased and good to go. Bar turned the other way up to hide the worst scuff. 8)

Re: 1990 Marin Pine Mountain. *Update 19/7/16*.

Like a good Marin, scrubbed up really well, early 90's Marin's just look the bizz.. you certainly got a good one, original paint job+decals, with the orange so vibrant.. stands out.. cracking bike!

Re: 1990 Marin Pine Mountain. *Update 19/7/16*.

Yes really like this build, very period, just how I like it! I follow the same train of thought as you, preferring original paint, decals and parts for most of it... I just prefer the overall look... but have learnt this gradually and try to achieve a restoration build to how it was bitd! which I appreciate isn't everyone cup of tea.. anyway a really nice build, look forward to the finished pictures :)

Your dog doesn't look very pleased with it!?!? I bet swmbo feels same way as dog?
Lovely bike was one knocking round here young kid on it but never managed to collar him and when I have he's not on bike. Was gonna offer him a silly price. Nvm
