I have a 1990 Marin Palisades for sale. I bought this originally to use as a donor bike for another Marin build. (frame also for sale on here). But due to the size of the frame the forks & stem would not fit!
It’s a 21” frame in very good condition with no signs of rust. The forks however could do with a respray as they do have a small patch of rust forming but its only surface. Unfortunately as you can see in the pictures it comes with riser bars & not the original neon yellow flat bars. The rear tyre is the original tyre but the side walls are perished so it will need to be replaced & it also comes with an aftermarket suspension seatpost! Apart from that it’s a nice honest bike that’s ready to ride!

£60 Collected from Windsor, Bracknell or Heathrow areas

Any questions let me know. (unfortunately Rabbit not included in sale)

I like these old Marins! :-)

Marin had two things going for them back then:

1. Great branding using the origin county of mountain biking in the company's name and using the name of the original trails for their bikes.

2. Great design, although that changed in 93-94 imo. After that they all looked the same.

I never did ride the older Marins. The ones from 94 and onwards became to weak for my taste. The frames became too "loose" and the wheels needed adjusting after every ride. A consequense of Marins everlasting serch for light weight bikes. I always imagine that the older Marins were more solid and better rides.

Regardless.....I still love to look at them and especially the old ones with their great color schemes.

:-)

I agree. The Marin's from the early 90's are the reason for me taking up the sport. I remember seeing a 1990 Marin when I was 12 but could never afford one. But 22 years later I now own 5!
Unfortunately I need to sell some to finish my pine mountain!
