Just picked up this frame last night, top of the range back then but unfortunately that year there was the recall of the Pepperoni forks. So now I am looking for some forks for this frame...but as some may already know where this is going, these frames take an inch and a quarter headset! Also as it's a 22 inch frame I need a long, long steerer. I think my chances of finding something suitable are close to zero so I was wondering if there is any way to convert to inch and an eighth?
I would be interested to hear if anyone has any info on any way to do this.
Cheers

Yup, inch and a quarter was later.
The pepperoni's that were recalled were because they had an aluminium steerer, and (IIRC, this was 1992), they still had threaded pre a-head steerers, and the threads stripped really easily. The forks were recalled and replaced with a pepperoni with a steel inch and a quarter threaded steerer.
What have you got? Have you got the original forks and are unsure weather to use them?

Aha, I was going off the information given by the seller who bought the bike new so assumed he was correct. It is definitely an inch and a quarter and he said he had to take it back for the recall so it must be a 1992. The shop fitted a Rockshox Quadra which is still on the frame so I have something I can use while trying to source something better.

OK I have looked through the catalogues and it looks like it is actually a 1993 M2000 looking at the colourway options over the years.

Cool!
Just use the quadras for now until something else comes along. 1 1/4" is not as common as 1 1/8", but the stuff is out there.
This gives you time too to decide if you want to stick with threaded, or convert to Ahead. Personally I'd be in favour of keeping it as per the catalogue architecture.
