Well, there is a back story to this bike...

In 1989 my dad took me to the bike shop in Birmingham to get a bike for my 15th birthday - and the Marin was the one I desperately wanted to get. When we got there they didn't have my size, they only had the XL frame. Me being me, I decided I couldn't wait the week for the dealer to get the correct size and I ended up with a Claud Butler Banshee.

Now there was nothing wrong with the Banshee but I still wanted that Marin and it started my long-running relationship with Marin bikes (look at the signature).

I found one late last year down in a basement in Bournemouth and luckily I had a friend who picked it up and sent it to me

It arrived in a bit of a state - someone had tried to retouch it and had sprayed it with cables and components intact

A full strip down and clean and actually the frame was the worst part - the components were nice and after a clean came up really well

Worked with a powder coater local to me who did an amazing job recreating the bright yellow paint (the paint on the fork steerer that was in the headtube was used as the reference)

had fun unwrapping this one!
