sorry but it needs a picture to do it justice:

so nice.

shame what happened to this bike. Hope the new owner will restore it to its former glory :?

I have a couple leads on a complete m730 kit for the new owner if interested.

I was very interested in this bike when it was posted previously (though the "for sale" thread(s) was somewhat confusing, IIRC, so I left it).

But if I understand it correctly, from being pretty much original (or at least complete) when it first appeared, it's now lost crank, shifters etc. etc. and is being punted on again?

I would still love to buy it, but not sure of how much time and cost is required to replace stuff that was originally included and has (presumably?) been cherry-picked somewhere along the way?

The bike was stripped by Chris and the parts were used to rebuild a Mountain Goat.

I bought frame, fork, bar, saddle and stem from him.

Since then I have been buying NOS parts to rebuild it.

To finish it needs....

XT Thumbshifters
XT M730 Cranks
XT M730/732 Pedals
XT u brake
XT front cantis
XT 4 finger levers

With some patience you should find mint examples of the above parts for around £250.

All the parts required should not be too difficult to get- Rocco has NOS brakes and thumbies if you ask him nicely.

Thanks for the clarification, Si.
I'll have to give it some thought - My "grail" is currently on Ebay... although it's likely to sell for way beyond "realistic" (and probably end up hung on a wall somewhere).

No worries.

Sithlord has got dibs on it until next Friday now anyway. If he passes i will offer it back for sale next weekend.

Jealous of ya, Si, she's a stunner........ 8) 8)

Congrats tho, make sure you do a good job of the build..... No Mardi-gras
