Languishing at the back of the shed since Weeman practically threw it at me last year, I've been umming and procrastinating over what to do with it.

The Pacific was a failed build. Didnt like it as soon as I sat on it so it is the donor for many parts.

The original specification is Shimano 'new' Deore - I have the correct mechs, thumbies and brakes so not a bad start.

I believe its a 1987 build for the '88 model year.

The chainset will be a Sakae for now and a trusty UN52 BB takes the place of what should be there.

The long gone Harry Quinn donates a Tioga stem and bars.

Thanks to gm1230126 as ever for the catalog scans and weeman_mtb for the frame.

Initial build finds the my peculiar body seems to fit what should be a small frame where the Pacific failed.

More pics this afternoon.

Re:

Really like that! horizontal dropouts would suit a SS build?

If you decide its too small...

Re:

OOh - that's lovely :) Will keep an eye on this as it evolves.

weeman sorted me out with some forks FOC last year - top bloke

had a bit of spare time this evening so finished it off for now until I can build up some better wheels. Everything I have at present seems to have worn sidewalls, flat spots or, as in this case, rusty spokes...

Anyway, bits of this & that to make:

Re:

Looks nice that. Funny how the frame seems to have taken on the blue from the garage door in the finished pics :)
