1986 Ross Mt Hood

Lhatch4

Fat Chance Fan
I picked this up on my way into work today for $30. The saddle, brakes, rear derailleur, tires and grips are not original. Everything else is Suntour XC Sport and in good condition. It appears to have been garaged and cared for during it's life. I'll know more this weekend when I can get into it.

No idea what those quill stems are called although really think they look good, seen one before really really smart :D

This stem is embossed with the the Ross logo on the front but it looks very similar to the Cook Bro's dogbone stem. I thought that's what it was at first.

I thought the same about the stem when you posted this yesterday. I had to do a google.

XT U brakes, as I guessed ?.

Good buy for 30 bucks buddy. I'm really liking these older bike recently. I hope you are keeping that saddle 😜

I was thinking of sending you the saddle for your birthday actually. Yes XT U-brakes. Well worth it. The stem is cool. Not Cook Bros cool but still.

Not just a Mt. Hood. It's a "Hi Tech" Mt. Hood. Oregonian's are proud. I was also happy to see that it's triple butted CrMo. Heavy bike but some thought went into making it.

I spent the morning giving the Ross a makeover. I still need to get the proper brakes and derailleur. I'll grease and adjust everything all at once when I get them. I think the looks are greatly improved with these changes.

That looks really cool. I'm loving bullmoose bars of late. I still think the other saddle looked better though ;-)

No saddle is an improvement over that saddle. That's right, sitting on the seatpost would be better than that ugly thing. I'm not really sold on the Brooks either. Definitely an improvement but not very sporty. It would have come with a Vetta. Maybe a Selle Italia Turbo. I'm not sure yet.
