1986 Raleigh Record Ace - all original - newbie restorer :)

Yes I think really it should be resprayed but I'd struggle to get it looking original. So I'll just see how I get on with it when rebuilt.
 
Some more pics of the components, it all had a nasty layer of white oxidisation or whatever it was, the polish seems to have fetched most of it off as well as the surface rust, still looks a bit pitted in places but definitely an improvement and ok i think for a first real attempt.

Shimano 600 Cranks, BB is Shimano (600?), 600 shifters and mechs. Brakes are Weinmann 500.

The pedal clips are a bit past it, I'm tempted by the ones on Freshtripe, look like a match and they do the leather strips to go with them also.
 
loving that bottom bracket!!! dont think its 600 tho...and most parts look very cleanable :D... and did i hear you say toe clips and straps?? lol. you need to visit here!!! new retro goodness!! :)
