I've seen a few early Specialized mtb's for sale on Facebook over the last year or so and always admired how good they looked and secretly quite fancied owning one. However they have always been in the states and I couldn't be bothered with all the dramas, and cost, of getting one shipped over.
This morning when doing my daily trawl of online market places I spotted a 83 Stumpjumper Sport and based here in the UK. Must be pretty rare over here I would imagine ?. Don't recall actually seeing one in the flesh before?.
Fast forward a few hours and I'm chatting to a super nice American gent, he may be along to coment as I said I would put some pics up here, who tells me the bike was purchased new by a female teacher in NYC. He then purchased the bike from her and brought it over to the UK. Anyway I will let the pictures do the talking. Plan is a light clean and polish, would seem a shame to go any further on such an original bike.
