The clear out continues, I am determined to have fewer than 20 bikes by the end of the summer!
This is a Royal in very original condition, not restored, all I have done is clean it and fit a new rear mech just so I could ride it to check it out. I normally ride a 58 or 60 cm road frame and this fits me surprisingly well since the top tube measures just 58cm c-c which is exactly the same as my 58cm Spa Audax. The seat in the photo is set at the right height for me and IMHO is doesn't look too low.
The wheels are 27" Miche Competition hubs and rims complete with somewhat rusty but original QRs. Brooks saddle is comfortable and supple with a bit of erosion around the rivets but usable still. Weinmann centre pulls and levers, GB stem with Sakae Road Champion 42 cm bars. Shimano downtube shifters, 500 Exage rear mech and Suntour front mech.
It rides very well and would make the basis of a nice project or just a fun robust pub runabout for the right TALL person.
I am 6ft 3" and it is a comfortable fit for me.
All this Great British history for a mere £50! What more could you want.
I can't post it though... it's too big!
Although I could be persuaded to deliver a reasonable distance or meet someone halfway.
