Retro Guru
Been busy over lock down getting this on the road. Looking to build a light bike to keep up on club rides.

1980 Holdsworth Pro SL with some modern lightweight components. Can't get anything bigger then 23C's in the rear due to brake bridge. Weighs in a 7.36kg and feels taught and light. Reynolds 531SL Frame, Durace drive train, Ritchy Stems & Bars, TRP brakes & Levers.

Done ~50 miles over w/e, waiting for club rides to resume.

Very tidy... what would have fitted the rear? 700 sprint tubulars?

I have 700x23C Conti GP5000 in as they are good road tyres, just clears the bridge, but had to relive the caliper mount a bit. No sign of rubbing on tyre so far. I did try 25C's but wheel lock up totally at full pressure, so I have some expensive tyres for the Monsoon or the Raleigh. I have similar problems with the Sprint frame on the front caliper and the Lo-pro only takes 23's too. These bikes were made in the days of narrow as possible tyres I guess.

Don't forget to pop this into July's RetroMod RbotM David....

Next Retro Project lined up. 1948 CB International Fixed wheel, same treatment as the Pro. Target weight 6.5Kg, will be pleased to get it below 7Kg.

Up at the local, New, track our club was asked for some riders to do a photo shoot to promote winter cycling. I took the SL and was the only one kitted up in winter gear so got some good shots. The night was 'COLD' last Thursday in Nov. the others were freezing! I also finished my mileage target for this year there too, 10K miles. It was good fun following the video car and there was a drone following us overhead. https://colchestersportspark.co.uk/cycling/cycling-sportive#section3
