If you look very closely at those pics you will see that the brake arms are mounted on studs brazed to the frame and do not have the 'back plate' as on 'normal' stirrups. I don't know if this was a variety available to anyone or just a team bike version.

Yeah I noticed that before on the '76 bikes - usually the factory bikes - PY 10's

many tweaks on a theme

I guess the sexy pro dept were always tweaking the designs here and there. They also used to do customer spec bikes for guys with deep pockets at the time.

See this pic, dispels the myths about boring Peugeots I think

Yes, that's super. I must admit that I never really appreciated Peugeot machines BITD. They never had the 'je ne sais qua' of Belgian or Italian machines - but perhaps you're changing my opinion :D

Exactly my thoughts....Pugs... bit boring .... well the top end stuff was good, the normal may be a little dry... but with this machine you have the best of both worlds.... a dash of flamboyance.

I like merciers and gitanes too but that is another thread.

I also like the earlier px 10 & phx 10.

Superb restoration

Not long finished a 70's Claud Butler build which was my first road bike.

Just started on an early 90's Merckx Corsa Extra that should keep me busy over the winter.

I like the Peugeot look and may go for a Tom Simpson style build.
