Bought in a house clearance where it was mostly complete, I understand this was a one owner bike and he had plenty of spares for it, I tried to build it with as many original parts for the correct period as possible. It may have had a repaint, I'm unsure, the purple paintjob is pretty 70s and in great condition and is a good quality job, the transfers have some damage as pictured but are over the lacquer so could be rubbed off an replaced, my intention was a light touch refurb, I'd suggest the buyer may wish to change a couple of things if they were to ride it in anger. It is built as a single rear ring, rear mech TT style bike, it would be possible to add a front mech and cable guides, an extra ring and one of those Huret style left hand shifters with a gap in the clamp to get it set up as a double.
Sizing:
Seat tube: 57 cm centre to centre
Top tube: 55 cm center to centre
Head tube: 165 mm
Chainstay length: 40 cm centre to centre
Wheelbase: 99 cm centre to centre
Frame number confirms the frame was built by Vic Edwards in 1974
Spec:
Condor Italia with fastback stays, Campagnolo 'Time Trial' dropouts
Campagnolo Nuovo Record:
- Rear mech (Pat 73)
- Strada chainset with single ring
- Brakes (nutted, original Campagnolo pads)
- Brake levers with NOS gum hoods
- Steel headset
- Large flange hubs
- Flat (pre-CPSC) quick release levers
- Bottom bracket
- Downtube shifter
- Pedals
- Seatpost, heavily modified
Regina chain and 5 speed block (yes, the chain needs shortening, I left it long in case of a freewheel change)
Milremo Sprint (Tubular) rims with new Vittoria Rally tubs (taped)
Cinelli 1A early version stem, Cinelli Giro D-Italia early version bars
Velox cotton tape applied awfully (not my forte)
Christophe toe clips and Holdsworth 'Allez' leather straps
Cinelli Unicanitor Mod 50 uncovered road saddle (not a modern repro)
NOS Casiraghi Corsa brake cables
It isn't perfect, wheels could be truer, the chain could be shorter, the brake blocks could be less rusty but it is original, in lovely cosmetic condition and can be ridden as is.
