latest crazy project - bought for the patina and the challenge - so far just cleaned the frame, freed the seat post and quill stem, removed a lot of gronk.

Is anyone able to explain what this hole in the seattube lug is for?

...goes all the way through t'other side.

Aha, thx v much for that, so I now have an idea to re-use this if I can find a pulley or something to use as a cable stop in this position

The fulcrum clip sits off the lug on the top tube and its a bare wire to the hub.
