After getting this nice old Trek into a rideable state (pictures were taken before that) I've reached the conclusion that I don't need it. It doesn't fit me anyway. 18" seat tube (C-T), 22" top tube (C-C).
These are (IMO) very underrated retro steeds - frame/fork is a very nice bit of vintage cro-mo steel. Lugged, lightweight and with lively geometry.
XT headset, front mech, chainset (with later steel rings), pedals. LX rear mech. Wheels are nothing special but in good nick. Basic Tektro V-brakes. Since photos were taken I fitted a pair of nearly new Specialized Hemisphere 26x1.95 tyres, made the brakes work, replaced the missing seatpost bolt, and lubed up the rusty and stiff parts.
Grips and STIs are horrible, cables are past their best and it needs a service, but other than that nothing's worn out or seized. It was built by my dad a couple of years ago, never ridden, and left in the garden. It has developed some surface rust over that period but nothing nasty.
I'm thinking £70 as-is or £35 stripped down to bare frame and forks, but I'm open to offers add might swap or PX for a slightly larger retro frame/bike.
