With a damaged grease port and missing seals, i agree that it would be the best to use bearings with seals on both sides. Those will last for ages in light use. Buy quality bearings and be happy!

Does anyone know if salsa will try to produce another batch of these stems? I am looking for a 1 inch quill stem with removeable/hinged front plate (riser bar, i am getting old...) for a long time, and can´t find any new ones. Or does someone know other 1 inch quill stems with that feature?

Re: last version 2,25 Schwalbe Racing Ralph doesn´t work on Merlins with straight stays. I ran my ´91 with this setup, but it rubbed on the stays in corners :( Now i run a conti X-King 2,4 in the front and a 2,2 Race King in the rear, and that ist perfect. I have to acommodate to the looks...

Hi, i´m looking for a 17"-19" titanium frame. Head tube 1,125" Horizontal top tube 22"-23" (56cm-58,5cm) about mid 90ies (canti/v-brake studs) finest would be a c-c 17,5 Merlin XLM or mountain, but i am open for other frames, too. Thanks
