What is "Spirit Max"

Yesterday, I bought this bike. It was offered locally at a ridiculous price, so I really had to hurry to get it

Besides the obvious Pace, the XTR brakes, Middleburn cranks, Sachs Quarz drivetrain, I really do not know much about the frame. The name is not google friendly...

I think, its not a cheap frame. It seems fillet brazed, has ovalized Columbus tubes. Has a sticker near the bb "handmade by Rudolf Pally", written in german - not sure about that name. Its signed and I cant read it properly.

Can anyone tell my something about the frame or the brand?

Greetings
Matthias

If the tubes are Columbus and are ovalised then its a good bet it could be Columbus Max tubing as it came ovalised for main tubes on request.
So Spirit may well be the brand.
Just a guess, always a guess.

Re:

Someone tipped me off on IBC to take a look at the 1994 Bike Workshop and so I did. Found the frame on page 34
It says it cost 2600 Marks, thats about the same price as a Rocky Altitude at the time
Size: Made to measure.
Not my measure, sadly
I payed 40 Euros...

Re:

40 Euros!
That's seriously nice, I'd be interested in the forks if you decide to split it!
Maybe the frame too, for 40 Euros! :D

Not sure. I saw some pictures if his current frames - they have some similarities. Perhaps I'll write him an email and ask. :D
